The wheels look good man! You definitely could use some wheel spacers!

it pulls a little yeah, and it appears that some previous owner hit a stump or something, but it still drives ok like that, just havent taken time to hunt down a new one.

so i started on the drivers side. begining thoughts...man im not going to like this.

bearing cage fell off, and the center piece was burnt so bad it took and hour to seperate these pieces.

after cleaning up the work station. and ordering new tie rod ends/rotors/pads....received the wrong dam pads, and one of the rotors looked like they'd left it out in the rain.

shrinking races, dry ice/rubbing alcohol combo, freeze for 10 min.

...like i said....freeze for 10 min...

didnt take anymore pics of it, but now we need new hubs. the guides for the locks in the warn hub locks that were on it rusted/decayed.. so im tryin to hunt down a factory set for less then 200 bucks. and will try to get the pass. side done next wknd... this took me 4 days. lots of cussing, and unnecessary trips to the parts store -_-

Atleast you have enough for the both of us! I was going to wait and do my knuckles this winter, but I changed my mind. Heck I'm doing the high steer, why not just do it all why I am right there.. you know?? Ordered the kit with the other day. Yours looks a lot cleaner than mine does.

thanks man, i wanna do high steer, and fix all the sag in my front end, but i think imma do the ruf conversion, and the chevy 63s later, for the time being, im just doing all the front end components. new brakes (need to rebuild the calipers still), new tie rod ends, picking up a new connecting rod to replace that bent one this weekend for $20 lol. and i scored these hella sweet aisin hubs this wknd for $50!

MIDWAY:

AFTER!!!!!!

(still need to take the wire grinder to them)

im thinkin about putting stainless bolts in instead of painting the old ones. should contrast well on the new wheels with the lugs... lol

just started on the passenger side knuckle, havent been driving the truck since i did the drivers side cause driving with one new set of brakes and one old just doesnt make sense to me.. lol. and as for other updates, same guy i got my hubs from also has the A/c bracket i lack for the A/c, and the bent bar that connects my tie rods, picking them up saturday for $40. other then that im just finding ways to preserve the badassness of the truck. feel like i need to do new gaskets on the transfer case also, but if imma get that indepth already, imma look into what i can upgrade as im inside. any thoughts?? i been looking at transfer case stuff, but as far as what ill use the truck for i think my biggest gain will be from high steer. honestly.

The high steer would be a good upgrade for ya.. as for the transfer case not much there unless you are going to be putting the truck off road a lot. I would just check the bearings and change the seals out. Other than that you should be good to go! I agree that wouln't make much since on the brakes. I know cleaning the parts for the hubs is a PITA! Takes forever without a sand or bead blaster. That def my next investment as far as tools go! Looks good though, you will have it back on the road in no time.

i have a sand blaster...i thinkk it might be a little harsh on most of the parts. well...maybe not too harsh just overkill IMO lol. but as for the high steer, i think that, and refreshing all my suspenion parts, and important mechanics are about as far as ill go. till i get all my other projects caught up. right now in my plans the only thing that i havent really considered too heavily is the transmission...might do a good clutch.. oh and get the exhaust ran out the back!!! f dumped exhaust

Hi guys, i was just wondering, how do you know when you should rebuild the knuckles? And what is the advantage over the hi-steer kit?
