You are going to like the Weber, it cleans up the engine bay so nice and so much easier to work on then the Aisin. I would be interested in seeing what the header does for your horsepower.

Yeah it basically feels congested. I know it's not a hot rod but I do believe that the header and the new carb will spruce it up and let it cruise a little better. I'm debating whether or not I want to run a catalytic converter or not. I might look into a high flow cat.

I was going to buy my friends 31/10.50/15 mtz's on Mt rims for $500 buuut after talking to him he really doesn't want to sell them so I'm just going to loan him the money and work on my engine some more instead. Tires are going to wait until I get my suspension figured out. I just can't buy 1200 worth of stuff from him for less than half of that and be a good friend too.

The strangest thing happened after work today. I was leaving work and noticed a clanking at my driver's side front wheel so I pulled over and every lug nut was loose. Two on the passengers side. None in the rear. I got stuck in my yard again and plowed out in 4x4 but that couldn't of loosened the nuts. I hope someone didn't screw with my truck. I know the rims and tires aren't worth stealing.

Loving this build, nice work!
I am building up an old 85 Ext. cab and just ordered a 32/36 Weber carb as well as a new intake manifold.
I'm really trying to put off dropping money on a set of headers too, but depending how much you like yours, I might have to pull the trigger!
Keep up the good work, man.

New plugs, wires, cap, rotor button, coil, air filter, oil filter & oil today.
The beldan 7mm wires from NAPA are the best quality wires I've ever seen. The truck runs so smooth now and takes about half a second to turn over. I took the old wires off and slapped myself for putting Bosch on to begin with. These NAPA wires are actually guaranteed for life and only cost $40!

The header is going on now. All of the exhaust studs came out beautifully. Had more trouble with that damn brace to the transmission than anything so far. 12mm bolt was stripped before I touched it so I used some Alabama wrenches to get it off. I'm gonna clamp the exhaust together temporarily just because nowhere is open today but I'll get the muffler welded on soon. The cat has been clogged since I've owned this truck and I really feel like it's been holding it back. So. There won't be a cat. Whoo!!!
