well last night i figured ill mess around with my door panels . i wish i would have never pulled them off . the bracket for my window is held together by shoe string! . so im get new doors this weekend . and have a friend cutting out diamond plate door panels powder coated black ! i am thinking about rebuilding the front axle soon . any advice of mistakes that i might make? well pics will come when doors go on .. i have'nt had much money to do anything so this will be a slow build till work starts this summer .

I just did the same thing for the first time. It's pretty straight forward. Go to first gen pickup section and it's a sticky at the top by toyospearo. Walks you through it nicely. Get the fsm and it has all the torque specs. You can search the PDF for specifics which is nice. It's real dirty

I read that sticky last night . and i pretty much understood everything ! i do have a buddy of mine thats gonna do his at the same time so we can work beside each other . hes done it a number of times . oh yea and just put my redneck cold air intake on . i gained i good bit of bottom end torgue and throttle response. i used 3inch PVC with 2 1/2 90 elbow and 3 inch extension piece adapter plate and a small k/n cone cold air . sounds sick . pics soon found out cameras not water proof last weekend !

There is really no reason to go 5 inch springs. I can clear 35s on 3 inch springs and they wont rub with a little hammering and cutting. Drilling the spring perches to move the axle an inch forward. There are a Loy if options besides drastically cutting fenders and lifting your truck too high to get a good compromise with a low center if gravity

I think ocdrop clears 35s with room for 37s with the 4 inch and said he would have done the 3 inch kit if he could do it over

the main reason for the 5inch springs is when i ride i have 38s . and on the street 35s i try to save my gas on the roads but in the woods its a different story but thanks for the reply .

Are you going to lock the front end? From what I've read going much bigger than 35s and a locked front end is a recipe for broken birfs. Dirty 30s or anything of the like will be next I suppose.

I had a lifted 79 yota when I was 16 , ahh good times. Just wish I would have spent more time and money making it wheel rather than pissing off all my neighbors with my audio.

well i guess all good things come to an end! spent close to $6000 on motor put a 32/36 weber carb . bought a snorkle kit for that . sank the truck in some mud with very little motor brake in time and lost compression in 3 piston ..... so now im in one hell of a perdicament ... what motor should i go to this time v6 buick with 3speed or 350 and 4speed granny low trans ??
