Oh is that 1 1/4" ? We have some 1-1/2 square tube with 1/4" wall at work, but dont normally stock it. If I had readily access to a plate break I would make a skid/cross out of plate. I could more easily fab one from tubing but I had never seen one. Probably just didnt look deep enough, but either way, this is what I would make for my 4Runner.

Ya I wanted 1/4" I didn't want the 1 1/2" tube though. I figured two pieces welded together would give me a double seam in the middle too. And I sleeved the holes for the bolts and welded some thick washers top and bottom. It's bolted solid to the frame with 1/4" gussets and my skid will eventually be welded across tying it all together.

I started on cutting out my fuel door from the bed and filling it in. I have had the fuel cell in and this door is useless now so I decided to get rid of it. You can see my new fill in my toolbox in the pic.

Well today I ordered the D60 high steer arms, 7/8" heim steering kit from ruffstuff, a 1 ton chevy master cylinder and the Chevy to Toyota master cylinder adapter. I will finally get my steering and brakes done. Then I need to build a driveline and the truck will move again under it's own power.

I drilled my pitman arm tonight and got my drag link tacked. Need two more gr.8 bolts and weld it all up. Also got my chevy master cylinder adapter today. So I'm getting closer to having it back driving.

Haven't done much on the truck lately as the wife is out of town until her due date so she is closer to the doctors. I have been spending all my weekends away with her.
I did however get my truck outside two weeks ago. My brakes and steering are done and I built some temporary drivelines finally. I also got some wheels for free the other day. Just needed some cleaning and painted them black. 17 x 9 steel wheels. I'm still waiting on tires so I can get the stock Chevy little one off.
Today I got a present from the brown truck on my front step. My new inner axle shaft I ordered. Can finally put my front axle back together and get the truck that much closer to going again.
We also pushed my brother-in-laws truck into my garage and started tearing it apart. Got the old engine out. Started getting the new one back together (intake and valve covers just sitting on it in pic.) And gutted the interior and started installing a new wiring harness.

Ya man I narrowed it the difference from the Chevy to Toyota spring width. I think it was 2.5" the Chevy axle was about 32" c.t.c. On the springs. Not much narrower but I figured it was easier than cutting my hanger back off.
You plan on building a rig with 1tons? I finally drove mine a little the other day. Just around the house a bit. Have a few things to work out still and I need wheels so I can get my tires on. It's still sitting on the 235/85's right now.

Well it's been a while since I have done a lot to my truck. I did however get my brother-in-laws truck out of my garage and had mine back in. I got my axle shaft in and pulled my steering box off and tapped it for hydro assist. I just capped it off for now until I get the ram and hose. I got some tires for my street wheels. Just need wheels for my other tires. I also bought a trailer that is a project I'll fix up to haul the truck on.

Ok so I decided today that I want a more family friendly rig I decided that I'm going to pull my bed and body and find a 4runner body to swap on my frame. I took some pics to remember it by.

I got a new sticker on my truck for my mufflers.
First time I have got to go out in my truck in a long time since doing most of the rebuild. Nothing crazy around my house but I did find I small spot to flex it a little. I still have some fine tuning to do as with most projects.
