yea, not stock. you could go with the first gen stock- which look kinda like this, couldnt find a pic on a first gen.

oooorrr, you could go with second gen mirrors, which personally, i think they look way better. oh yea the other mirrors also came on the second gens as well

was busy today at work so i only got a few things done, reinstalled the rear main cover, gasket and seal. also got a new pilot bearing. wire wheeled the pan and flatten it back out due to alot of chiseling and prying to get it out. got to wait till monday and see how busy work is and work on the truck on the side

I have a possibly stupid question. I am new to toyota my granddad left me an 83 4x4 when he passed away. Right now it has stock 235s and I was thinking of swapping them out for 31"s. A buddy told me I would have to swap out my gearing for the bigger tires. Not sure why but this doesn't seem right to me. I'm new to the site so I apologize if this is off topic.

i have 31s on there now, didnt change out any gearing. before i had 33s from the po but i didnt like the look. reason for the gear change your friend is suggesting is to get the power back that you loose from bigger tires. another note to remember is larger tires will throw your speedo off. with the 31s, my speedo reads 5mph slower than actual speed

oh congrats on the truck.

My spedo is already 5 off maybe this will make it spot on. Like your truck...Don't suppose you want to sell me your tailgate. Ill trade you mine, Ill even throw in the bailing wire latch for free.
