Did some jet work on the Weber and It's now in the truck. All i can say is holy christ what a difference. I thought my truck was running great before, now it's like a ugly sewing machine on wheels!

Yup. I have a little tinkering to do tho. The idle is a hair high and it will diesel and backfire when I cut it off for some reason. Not every time, but enough to be annoying. If I back the timing down to stop it from backfiring, it's too retarded and really kills my power. Just have to find the sweet spot.

Well, Nobody came and purchased the truck, I ended up selling my boat instead. Im very glad, because I really didnt want to sell her.
On another note, I drive the truck everyday to and from work and wheeling with my friends. A few days ago, I was driving in downtown traffic at lunch time and lost my brakes. I could not pump to build them up or anything, they were completely gone. Not cool at all. I ended up driving back to work and then driving home nearly 15 miles at 10pm at night with no brakes. I decided to go ahead and do the big brake upgrade, since I had planned to eventually run bigger tires and a bigger engine.
Working at O'reilly autoparts we get a HUGE discount on parts, so I purchased v6 calipers, pads, and rotors for the front, new wheeldrums, hardware kits, and shoes and drums for the rear. I ordered a wilwood proportioning valve as well and just got it in today. I also purchased some new grease for the hub and bearings up front. Now it is time to get dirty.
According to all the websites, it's a straight forward swap, boy did they lie. After redoing everything, the front tires would not bolt on, they were hitting the wider v6 caliper and stopping them from fitting properly. I returned the vented rotors and ordered a set of FJ rotors with the 8 hole pattern and same thing. Then after 3 days of tinkering and waiting, I ended up going back with the original solid rotor and have not accomplished anything in the form of upgrading. Such a dissappointment, It turns out the big brake upgrade only works for 81+ hub styles solid axles and my truck is an 80.

Seriously? That sucks! You're sure of that, it's not just the backspacing on your wheels or anything? Well, at least you have brakes!
Glad you didn't sell the truck.

Thanks 83', I'm glad nobody got her as well. I love my Toyota, nothing even compares to it, as i'm sure most of you feel the same way about yours.
I do apologize for the lack of progress on her lately, but fear not, for I have good new to all. The guy that I purchased the weber38 from is wanting to get it back on his truck. Now that leaves me in a bit of a bind, no carb! But, wait, there's more! He's offering to trade me his complete fuel injection setup just to get his weber 38 back, that's right, the whole setup!
So, in the next few days, I will be doing a step by step process of coverting from carb to fuel injection. The weber is a great street carb, but she did not like hills to well, and I was about to drop a 4.3 in there just to get a little more power and fuel injection. With my plans for 35' tires, I think the 22r/20r hybrid will be just fine with a new new fuel injection setup and some regearing to 5.29:1 gears, and a locker in the rear for now. I also am getting ready to do a rears up front lift soon as well to make room for the 35" tires I will be running. These Hankook Dynapro MT's have been some of the best tires I have purchased in a while, I do like my Buckshots as well, but these are a bit quieter on the road and lucky for me they do make them in 35"s.
While the motor is out, I plan to put another new clutch in from Marlin, nothing is better than their clutches in my experience, and I will also be painting the rest of the drivetrain to match the motor. If time and cash will allow, I will also try to undercoat the underside of my truck. I would prefer to use some POR 15, we will see how that goes.
Sorry for the downtime, to those who were keeping up with this build. More is on the way very soon.
