Hey guys im cary pretty new to the whole yotatech thing but here is my build up of my 1982 toyota longbed truck ill post all the pictures i have of it
i paid 400 for this truck cause it had new new built thirds with 4:88 gears
pretty solid not a ton of rust frame is in great shape and bed has no rust

what the hell the front diff looks like it sticks out alot further?

the half-doors & covers are great! any issues with them on in the rain or driving?

and what center console is this? and the seats?

the axles have 1/4 inch dome covers welded on the axle after the stock one was removed
also the bracing on the axle housing is all 1/4 inch a friend of mine built them for his truck and he gave them to me when he did his link conversion

and the windows i dont know how they are while driving or rain the vehicle has not been driven yet due to engine needing head gasket and rear main

center console is from a wrangler i think. it was given to me

seats are from a 2006 saab 9-3 aero

 

WHat size tires are those bad boys? let me know if those window things do a decent job of keeping water I build have doors for my runner and could never think of a good way to stay dry? did you sow those yourself?

 

Tires are 33X12.50X15 they are toyo open country
ill be going to 37x13.50x15 they will also be toyo open country

these are my prototype windows not sure how water will be the gen one has the rain rail across the top and down the windshield so it should be ok but im gonna sew in some rubber between the snaps so it will have some type of seal. and i sewed them with a sewing machine. its marine vinyl and clear vinyl with nylon thread its all double stitched ill for sure let you know how it is in weather and on the road i think they will be good

 

Well after finding out the engine needs new over sized pistons I pulled the engine out today and am picking up a doner engine, 5 speed trans and second transfer case that are all good and I can test them before I buy so running 22r and dual cases here I come

Any one know a good place to get driveshafts from also what cross member you guys recommend.

 

How do you put gear oil in your diffs

Nice build man, everything is looking smooth and from your pictures looked as if it just kept chugging right along!

 

There is a fill hole on the third member side. The front axle will be replaced once I build my new one. Build is moving well now I was stalled out for a while due to low cash flow.

Update. I get my engine this weekend and will install next week with the tranny ill post pics

Does trail gear have driveshafts for dual cases ?
And I didn't know if there were any other cross members for dual cases besides trail gear?

 

well i pull my engine transmission and transfer case tomorrow tomorrow also picked up some 35'S with aluminum wheels ill sell the wheels once they get cleaned up and polished.

 

Resealing oil pan timing cover and valve cover and replacing timing chain guides and tensioner tomorrow got the 35s on trans, t case and engine go in Sunday. Few more things to weld then ready for some wheeling. So Stoked. More pics soon

 

whats teh front bumper from? and whats teh advantage of doing the bigger dome to the diffs?

 

Not sure what the bumper was from I scraped it. Doing Tg bumpers and sliders. And the dome covers are 1/4 inch stainless steel super strong and they take more fluid keeps different nice and cool. They will be going away when I build my new front axle.

YEa shes gonna stay a long bed i was going to bob it but i decided i wanna keep my bed space and build a removable rear seat facing backwards

 

air tank painted red got all hoses run and fittings in place







on board air compressor should be mounted this weekend so ill have work on board air by sunday.

have roof rack to be mounted as well this weekend

 

OK i have a window update for your guys windows keep water out well i know the gen 1 rain gutter helps this alot im sure but its waing pretty bad here in Colorado thismorning and the only water that xcame in the truck is from the temporary piece of wood i have screwed over my sunroof untill i get my snap in piece made. also the truck stays heated pretty well im pleased with the windows over all there easy to put on and take off so if anyone is interested in my design just shoot me a pm
