Just picked this up , wanted to share progress of fixing it up. First thing I want to find is some bj40 fj40 ect style wheels with hub cabs and a replacement grill with round headlights

 

 

I love this little truck , I think the first major over haul is going to be treating the frame and running gear then turning my attention to the body . Last will be to build up the extra motor into a beautiful piece then make the engine bay a clean and organized, happy place . Motor that's in it runs good , but it's making a scary sounding noise near where I guess the timing chain is so maybe my plans will change

 

Dash lights turn off after a few minutes running, I'm just glad they lite at all

Everything seems there for the most part, I have a rare top dash that cracked, I would be willing to swap this for a less desirable OEM one in perfect condition



Picked up this truck for speed and to tow a med size mobile home , plus I needed something that wasn't prone to rust

 

So I'm changing the bed to fiberglass , I have a pretty nice tail gate I want to use but wanted to check if my hardware was right

here's a couple of shots , I feel like the hook coming out of the bed should be a round knob type , it latches a little weird
