It's gotta be in the wiring at the distributor/alternator, time to search pirate4x4 for pics of a 22R engine bay and plugs
5/16" Main fuel line run today......still wont stay running
So i put the hood back on and went wheelin!, my buddy got his 2WD Dakota stuck in a mud hole, sucked up water, so I had to drag his sorry Dodge halfway through the bush haha, got a lifted 1500 Dodge on 35s to yank him up the big rocky hill tho

After searching Pirate for a few HOURS...
It seems like my alternator/distributor wiring is almost 100% WRONG
Since I didnt actually have a 22R to start, I didn't know what plugged into what exactly...well it seems early 22R's use a ovalish plug for the alternator on the fenderwell....I have this unplugged. I have the 22RE alternator plugged into now what i believe to be the distributor plug?.......
ANYONE have a pic of the Driver's side fenderwell of a 1st gen with a 22R? specifically the alternator plug and distrubutor plugs...

I had a 20r originally and just built a hybrid 22/20r. I didn't have to swap wire or plugs at all for the 22r alternator. They both used the same square type plug on the back of the alternator. I'll happily take a pic for you if you want, but mine is square.

Not the plug on the alternator itself, the fenderwell plug. What year 22R?

rewired a bunch of stuff, still wont stay running....
So call me fickle and stupid but
the 22RE/w56 is coming out for now
in its place
the original 20R, and i'm puttin my space L52 behind it
Reasons:
- UNcut '80 20R Harness will work with the '80 cab and motor...
- 20R runs for a fact
- L52 means i can use the stock d-shafts (which have all new u-joints)
- I'd rather have a running moving 20R truck then a lawn ornament with a 22RE
Cab's gutted, ready to come off this week sometime
Meanwhile...my bud's got their F150 done, came down my house to help my other bud put a budget boost on his TJ.....comic relief

I now know y Toyota's are called "mini trucks" lmao
F150 quick stats....89 F150, SAS with 79 Dana HP 44, 38.5 SX's, 9" lift, 3"bl, Deaver coils, shackle flip in the back, 347 Stroker under hood, its awesome haha

after 4 hours of breakin my back, cab went off, 22RE and w56 out and the 20R back in with a L52 behind it
cab is back on and a '80 20R harness run.
Just gotta plug in a few more things and hook up some relays, fluids, and turn the key now.....then onto throwin it all back together

Update with questions.....
Got her all back together, running and driving a while in the back yard for extened periods of time. Finally got her all legal with the state, and put the plate on, went to go drive it and 2 blocks from my house she craps out.
I'm getting fuel to the carb. Pressure at the banjo bolt on the carb. But it does not start. Nothing to the carb is blocked...just checked and changed it all today. It will fire up with gas poured in the carb... any ideas as what to look for in the carb? Blocked jet?

dang, i was afraid of that. hate to buy a darn wheel spacers to run some stock rims. that was the goal to not spend money. I know where some IFS axles are, they want $400 a piece

hang in there, you doing one heck of a job

Well at the time it was what had to be done, now i wish i would have spent a little more time and money to get the 22RE goin.....but ya know
Anyway, some altitude changes are taking affect while i spave up for a weber 32/36, engbldr 261 cam, clutch, TRE's and shocks =D
Threw on a set of stock waggy springs up front, 2" ford blocks out back, 2" BL, and made my own 6" shackles, all together I got around 7"s over stock and the front is flexy as hell.
I'll be going with 57" Fords in the rear in the coming weeks, so dont get all worked up over AAL & Blocks in the back......not like the trucks moving anywhere right now =(
Here's some teaser shots before the shackles...cell pics I know....

The height next to my 4runner with around 3"s of lift and 32s, and a stock 1500 Dodge on 34's

Hopefully this week or next I get my 57" Ford Rears
Still saving for a Webber, but payin for gas back and forth to work/school and redoing my 4runner's exhaust is hurtin me a little
I hate hittin MORE downtime on this truck....its seen to much
