Angry 2019 4runner cracked cylinder sleeve in block

2019 runner, a little less than 84k miles on it. I bought it second hand from dollar car sales (car was used at dollar rental for the first 42k miles). I got minor vehicle shaking on my way home. Once I was home I went inside did what I had to do and went to take the pup to the park. Vehicle wouldn't start initially then had a rough start when I tried again. Got the codes read and ignition coil 3 failure. Replaced that, issue not fixed. Did all the spark plugs on the right side. Seemed to work but then vehicle started to run hot. Replaced thermostat, seemingly worked, but about a mile later check engine light came back on. Toyota of renton diagnosed head gasket failure. We tore the engine down and found a crack in the cast iron cylinder sleeve. In my time owning the vehicle it had only ever flirted with running hot after the issues had cropped up. Oil changes always on time, etc. Toyota told me to pound sand as i was out of factor 5 year 60k warranty. Last picture is just the nice tag I found in the intake manifold under the gasket of some grade a worker. A rare issue for the 1gr fe but one that we may see more of.

As it stands now, i have been unable to really find any one who can source a remanufactured engine. Cores are in short supply with it being so new. At this point it looks like the boys and I are going to get a new short block from toyota and rebuild. If anyone has any other ideas/suggestions I am all ears.

Engine cannot be re sleeved. I had to buy a new short block and completely rebuild the engine. When i fought with Toyota initially when it was misdiagnosed as a head gasket failure they approved $2400 for future parts and labor. This was done through the toyota brand engagement team. After taking it apart and discovering the crack in the sleeve I tried to reengage with the brand engagement team who told me there would be no further assistance and if they had known this was the issue they would have never have helped at all. I looked up toyota pres of us and found his email and contacted that email explaining what happened. Someone from the executive team reached out and after a ton of back and forth they approved another $2000 and said that would be all that they are willing to do. In my experience they fought with me at every step. No one at any point remotely had any vehicle knowledge and were all trained to just say they couldnt help because vehicle was out of warranty. The dealer that misdiagnosed was willing to reduce labor from 10700 to 7500 to do the job. They were only willing to do this after i complained to the GM about how they never contacted toyota or tried to advocate for me. I had every oil change and maintenance documented showing the vehicle was well maintained. This vehicle had never overheated. This appears to have been a casting defect in the cast iron.

I hope no one else ever experiences this.

I want to send special hate to the pond scum like kaishiito. i hope you stub your toe before bed every night for the rest of your life, you miserable troll.
