Toyota Yaris 2007
This is the second time in 6 months this has happened even though, after the first episode, I had a new ignition switch fitted and tests done by a Toyota Specialist in Sydney to make sure everything was okay.
First up car kicks over then just cuts out, this happens a couple of times. I take the key out of ignition and re-insert it and turn and it kicks over and stays running.
Car okay for a couple of days
When I try to start my car at the tyre repair shop, the ignition keeps turning over even when I let go of the key.
I manually turn it back off, it does not automatically return itself to the original position.
When this happened a few months back. I took it to a supposed Toyota specialist and they said it may be one of a few things, the ignition switch may need replacing (done by them) also they said the fact that I had 2 ignition keys on the same key ring could cause the problem (seperated ignition keys and now apart). They went right over the car and replace an airconditioner fan that kept stopping, re-gassed the air con. and checked it over for noises I could hear that they said were normal.
This cost close to $800.00
The car ran fin for a couple of months and now this is happening all over again
Anyone tell me what it could be. please
