The car has been running hot, in the 100 degree weather, we've been having lately. I decided to install a new water pump...

Aluminum pulley was a gift from a regular customer, at work...

Installed a 2nd electric fan, as well...

What did you do with those rims that were on it originally? Guys with the Roadsters and the 510s really like them, if you were ever gonna sell.. An idea! Otherwise, great looking Z! I'm always on the lookout for a rust free body to work on, but Memphis doesn't have too many sellers. Good luck with the build!

A friend of mine had a 71 BRE Replica with the L28t.. Pretty quick car. Your Z is looking good!

I picked up two of the three Weber 40 DCOE carbs that are going on my car. Have a line on a Cannon manifold and some linkage pieces I need. Hope to have them on in the next couple months.
That will give me enough carburetor for the stroker motor I plan to build later!

Buying another engine and transmission. L26 with a 620 Pickup 5 speed. Triple 40 DCOE 151 carbs. Schneider cam. Header. Mallory (?) distributor. High volume oil pump. Heard it run tonight. Sounds good!
The clutch is worn, but I won't need it. The crank seals are weeping, too. Otherwise, it runs nice. Even has a bunch of polished goodies (valve cover, pulley, alt. adjuster, oil cap).
I'm psyched!
Now, what performance upgrades can I do to an L26?
Pic of said engine...

Picked up the engine yesterday. Almost got it finished today. I can't wait to drive it!
Tomorrow, I'm picking up a throttle linkage piece, and a pigtail for the distributor. Should be back on the road soon.

Adam,
I had no idea you were into Z's! I have a 1980 ZX 2+2 slick top I've had since 2008 - got it free from my uncle, the original owner. Been a fun project alongside the 4runner and done brakes and suspension upgrades to it over the years.
Right now, I have the front windshield out, as I sanded the bezel down to bare metal to deal with the Z rust issues - did POR 15 and metal filler, before I prime and paint it. I have the dash out a second time too - going to try fiberglassing it and re-texturing/painting it before the new windshield goes in....SLOW going but having fun.
I prefer the S30 body style (240/260/280) over what I have though.....was walking my dog in my neighborhood last year and saw a guy with his garage open while washing his Mercedes...he had a bright orange 72 240 parked inside with flat tires and a quarter inch of dust on it. I asked him what the story was and he said it had been there since 1980 (!) and belongs to a friend in Michigan - he's "holding onto it for him"....I would love to have that car and restore it...but I have 2 projects already
Yours is looking great - love the color combo. The yota brakes up front and discs in back are popular mods. BlackDragon has great deals on parts too, if you haven't come across them yet. The Z store is also good, as you know.
Tension rods snap, especially with poly bushing upgrades - there are adjustable ones that are a popular upgrade. I forget the brand.
H4 conversion is a good idea too.
Can't think of other mods now, but great to see you in one - LOVE those cars!!!

Right on! Z cars are definitely fun projects. I did install some Hella H4 housings a while back, with their Yellow Star bulbs. Good lighting for the money. I've been looking at the adjustable rods from Techno Toy Tuning (T3), as well.
There's a good size group of Datsun guys on the bay area, on Ratsun, that put on a lot of Fun Runs, and events. Been planning to tag along, one of these days. Also, I'm going to try to make the show at Alameda, next year. Looks like good times!
