lol oh i know ! i use to have a set on my freeride/huck bike.. it was a 04 bighit pro with a marzocchi shiver world cup and a dhx 5.0 .. with chris king hubs and mag 30's ... those are def the toyota of mtb rims.. takes a lickin and keeps on tickin i saw the norco logo and immediately looked to check if you were from up north as we dont see too many norcos out here...

When I bought it I got a slight discount since the 2010s were just around the corner, I got it for $1,050.

The wheel reflectors are coming off later this week.
I took the front handlebar one off a week back, and the rear one that was on the seatpost came off when the toolkit bag was installed.

Yesterday in the Columbia River Gorge near home.

My first "keeper" MTB (another thread), an '09 Gary Fisher X-Caliber. Smooth, stable, balanced, quiet and confidence inspiring. Riding the learning curve and expanding the envelope is more fun on every ride. Like other quality goods it costs a bit more but feels like you can depend on it for a lifetime.

Wow. Its really good I stumbled on this thread, I just googled my bike, and the tires on it and realized how much its worth. Whoops.

I have a Giant Rincon. Only 550 miles its like 4 or 5 years old. It has then Kenda Nevegal, and blue groove tires on it, they are NICE, but noisy. I really need to do some maintenance to it, especially since it sits outside

Not to be OT, but any tips on maintenance, its basically never been done.

 

Should start a bike maintenance thread, or this one will get over run.

This bikes so fast....it made my canon powershot smoke after the flash went off!!!! no joke.

broke the derailer in mammoth last month...dont mind the cheesy frame protector. and ill be swapping out the heavy kendas for some smaller maxxis dh minions. Also got a new flat crown to put on.

Corey, thanks. I was playing with a new HDR photo edit app and got carried away.

Today was a short ride but warm and scenic of about 14 miles on a fire road in the national forest at Larch Mtn. Most every critter was eating, fattening up for Winter. Oh, and the wooly caterpillars are out, supposedly a sign of a hard Winter coming.

I had to do two minor trailside repairs. A pebble caught in the caliper and sounded bad and the ff der cable slipped out and rubbed against the tire knobs. No worries, got home easily in the center chainring.

Great weekend coming up, maybe the last warm and dry one for awhile...like six months.
