How does that even work?

I find just with practice, a plastic lever and your hands work best.

the adjustable black piece unhooks the bead and the other end attaches to the hub and pivots around it. A set of tire levers will get any tire off though, and theyre a lot more compact...

I also bought some blue Park levers in a pack of three I carry in my Topeak seat bag.
I hope they are heavy duty.

When I had that other bike from my kid's step brother several years ago, I pulled the tires off that were on it and put on some new ones.
The tire levers I had at the time I snapped all three of them.
Not in half, but plastic broke off.
I forget the brand of them, but they were not heavy duty.

Corey, just for fun try removing your tires using the new tools. Someday you'll need to do it on the trail and practice at home is better than in the rain. Plus you'll be able to double check rim strip installation (my Rockhopper rim strips were off) and talc the tubes (I toss 'em in a bag, sprinkle talc around, close the top and shake).

Bob, I will try that with my Park three lever set I bought awhile back that I keep int eh seat bag.

Speaking of Park, here is a vid from the Interbike show a week back.
I would really like to make that show next year.

Wow, so many special tools to get me in trouble! There's those Kenda tires again, heh.

Check out Performance Bikes this month. They're having a closeout/clearance sale on most tools. I picked up some handy Spin Doctor multitool sets and spare tubes ($5 for a 29er tube!).
