95 4runner with 3.4 not running $2000???
Well, if you go back and look at my old posts you will see that I have a 95 4runner that had a 3.0 v6. It had over 200,000 miles on it by the time that it crapped out. I bought a 3.4 v6 with I think 100,000 miles(I'll have to check again) for around $2,000 and put it into the truck. I have not been able to finish the truck because I have been very busy with my company(www.holdenwls.com) that is fairly new. I do however need a good vehicle that works. Unfortunately, it looks like I need to get rid of the 4runner. I think there are some pics on some of my old posts. The truck is a 95 4x4 3.4 v6 with power windows locks and sunroof. The truck does have a few small dents but nothing too major. The paint has faded a bit between the windshield and the sunroof. The hood got some scratches on it while I have had it off. Now for the work that HAS to be done to it. I have not gotten the wiring harness for the engine. It still needs the accessories from a 3.4 engine. It needs a new radiator. It needs a new crossover pipe for the exhaust that comes out the correct side and the exhaust needs to be fixed as I cut it off behind where it bolted up to the old crossover. It needs a body lift or a hole cut in the hood. The computer needs to be installed. Basically the engine is bolted in, it is just not hooked up to anything. I still have pretty much everything from the 3.0 except for the block and heads. I think that is pretty much it. So, if you think you may be interested in a lot of FUN work let me know what you would be willing to offer me. I am located in Abilene, TX and the vehicle would need to be trailered. Let me know if I may have forgotten anything.
Thanks,
Robert

Well, I did pay $2,000 for the motor and computer so I am thinking maybe $2,500 or best offer? Do y'all think that seems fair?

Did you buy an adapter kit to match the 3.4 with the tranny from the 3.0, or did you just get a complete donor 3.4/tranny from the same vehicle?

I read on here and talked to a few people and found out that the 3.4 bolts up to the 3.0 tranny fine. Like I said I just put the motor in and hooked it up to the tranny and that is where I stopped. Was I mislead? I was told that they just hook up. It stabbed in just fine and has the same bolt pattern. I put on a new clutch and flywheel before I put it in.

You're probably correct. It's the 3.4 to an auto tranny that needs the adapter. And it ain't cheap. I'm trying to find a way to make it work and was hoping you'd done the 3.4/auto tranny conversion since mine is an automatic.

Must be nice to have a crane to take your engines out
I would like to see the 3.4 in, If you have any pics of it bolted in. I might be interested, maybe some pics of the interior too. It might be a great project. Also what's missing from the engine, or is the engine complete. Heads, intake plenum, vacum hoses, and what kind of clutch did you install.
Sorry for the bombardment of Q's. thanks

I will try to get some pics of it. The engine has the heads intake plenum and all installed now. I think all the vacuum hoses are there. I forget what brand clutch it was. I threw away the package it came in a long while back. I know it was a "heavy duty" one anyways. Just let me know if you have any more questions and I will try to post pics in the next couple days.
