'88 4Runner 4Sale
I have an '88 4Runner for sale in Lakewood, Colorado (a suburb of Denver). It runs great! The interior is in excellent condition. It has new brakes, rotors, clutch, windshield, and hood. It has some body rust. It has a 22RE engine and is a standard shift. I have to sell it  because we have two other Toyota trucks that we use for DD's. I am asking $2,200.

Any Input?
Hi! Since my 4-Runner has not sold (nor had any inquiries), I was hoping to get your input. Do you guys have any ideas on how to sell it? I'd appreciate any help you could give.
I am the second owner and have enjoyed this truck very much! I didn't want to just list it in the paper and pass it on to just anyone. I was hoping to find someone who appreciates 4-Runners and could really use it.
If the price is too high, I am willing to ask lower. If the location is not right, I am willing to try working out something where I could drive it to you (I teach and still have a few weeks off before school starts).
It gets 22-25 mpg, so it's a great drive-around-vehicle. The new hood and windshield come as a result of some tree branches dropping on them during a snow storm. The only other damage to it was when a car backed into the driver's door when it was parked on the street. The door has been repaired.
It's a great truck! I am sad to sell it, but with two other trucks, we need to let it go. So, if anyone has any ideas on how to go about doing that, I would love to have your input!
Thanks!

I am not personally interested, but to answer your question, the price is ridiculously high. That rust on the rear quarter is nasty and I am sure the passenger side is the same, it just hasn't broken through yet. Since those two areas are so bad, the frame may be questionable also. So you might want to post pics of the frame and the interior of the other wheelwell and the front fenders.
If it were an '85 you MIGHT be able to get that for it, but certainly not an '88 because it is IFS, thus, it is not that rare. Also, mention how many miles are on the engine.

$1200- $1500 would probably get you some more attention. And miles would be a help. The rust would be a deal breaker for me.

Being that you're from AZ, I'd hope so. I'm smack dab in the rust belt.
$2200 is definitely not going to happen now. Like stated earlier, it's IFS, has the hideous red gut, not an SR5, and has some rust issues. $1200-$1500 is more feesible. OR..............You could hold on to it until the winter and you just may get your $2200 for it.

It's too rusty.
I paid what I consider to be top dollar $3700 for a similar pickup 88 in near perfect cosmetic shape.. No rust, original paint in great shape.. Has that nasty red interior.. If you decide to part, send me an email.

Parting out is not an option for me right now (space is limited). I am going to drop the price to $1,500.00 and keep trying to sell. It still has many good miles in it, even with the rust. And although the interior is red, it is in great condition! (I wonder, "What is the most desirable color for an interior?") Maybe if one were to take the top off, the red wouldn't be so red!
Thanks again for all of the good feedback!

On Saturday, I listed my 4Runner on Craig's List. Sold it on Tuesday. The person who bought it does body work so it looks like the rust will be taken care of. Yay!
Thanks to all for your input and time. Keep up the great yotatech web-site!
