3.4L V6 - Whole Thing or Part Out

Hey guys,

I just sold my 4Runner and I have my "project" engine left over that has to go. Here's the skinny:

- 140,000 miles
- leaky rear main seal
- needs head gasket
- needs injectors and a fuel rail

I'll sell the whole thing for 250 bucks if you come and pick it up in Tampa, FL(or ship it on your dime). It ran when I pulled it - just needs some TLC and it would be ready to go.

If no one chimes in for the whole engine I'll part it out -- lots of good parts that need a home.

Bumpin' it up. No reasonable offer refused!! This engine is not doing any good taking up space in my garage.

If you are looking to do a swap or if you want to build your dream engine this is the perfect place to start!

Wow...it looks like shipping to PA would be steep - upwards of $250 even if it was going from commercial address to commercial address. If you are up for that kind of price tag I can try to get a solid qoute.

It does not come with accessories (power steering, AC, alternator, etc) but the rest of the engine is in tact to include the upper and lower plenum, throttle body, and all timing belt components.

The parts alone are worth more than I am asking - and like I said, no reasonable offer refused.

Alright, one final bump...and a question.

It doesn't look like there is much interest for this -- I understand why (no way to hear it run, no guarantee it is in decent shape, etc). Does anyone know of a place to recycle this bad boy? It's really a shame... a good 3.4L that could be used for a swap or a replacement is going to waste here if someone doesn't buy it.

I can't believe I am going to write this, but if someone has $150 bucks and can pick this engine up, it's yours. Perfectly good except for a rear main seal, a head gasket, a set of injectors, and a fuel rail. If you are looking to do a swap, good luck finding a better deal if you are willing to do a little work.

Thanks -- this really is a perfect opportunity for a great project. Take your time, fix this engine up to be your dream engine with all of the money you will save, and convert one of the 3.0s to a dependable 3.4L.

There are a couple of people interested but still nothing firm. I posted a few pictures to show you what 150 bucks can get you. BTW - timing belt covers are in the box, you just can't see them in the pics. The fuel rail that is on the truck now is bent... might be "unbendable." I'll also throw in 6 injectors but they are not in good shape.

An estimate on shipping is $250 plus the materials to build a crate (probably $75). If you are seriously interested, even with that price tag, let me know and I'll get a firm shipping quote.
