Loan is above asking price, come on, someone needs a quick grocery getter or a sweet bundle of brownie points to the wife.

You know I'm a big fan of the mazdaspeed6 but I have to tell you you're looking really stupid here. I've driven a number of M3s and 6's and a M3 will obliterate a 6. They are factory rated 0-60 in 4.6 seconds...and you just said yourself the 6 is rated in the SIX second range and has been TESTED to go a little faster.

Suffice it to say your buddies M3 is broken or he's launching in 3rd gear

310hp w/AWD and can't run under a 14 second 1/4 mile according to the 0-60 time? A 227hp WRX runs low 14s and the STI w/300hp runs to 60mph in about 4.5 seconds.
Even the Neon SRT4 runs to 60 quicker.

He wasn't racing. I drove a new Mazdaspeed, thoroughly - check your specs, I think you're about 30hp or more above what Mazda quotes for factory HP on those. M3's run the 60 spring in the low 5's and the 1/4 in the very low 13's. Mazdaspeed can do the 1/4 in about mid to low 14's. It weighs about 300 - 400 more pounds and is short by about 50 horsepower on the bimmer.

They offered me a new 06 w/ 500 miles on it for 23k, with everything on it except nav. I probably would have gone for it if it wasn't for how every time I got in my "new" car I would know how many times other people had beat the crap out of it on test drives, for 500 miles.

I ended up spending significantly more for an M3. It wouldn't be a race, trust me.

I couldn't even find a 310hp model on the net or is this one a special limited version over the 270hp model?

Because to put it nicely, halfshaft@aol likes to "stretch the truth" whenever he's selling something. I very rarely visit this board and this is the second time I have come across a thread where this guy is misrepresenting what he's selling, and its always "oops my mistake GOD BLESS":

https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f180/05-tacoma-wheels-alum-5-spoke-w-centers-82237/

He tried to sell me those wheels offline and wanted me to beleive they were 05s until I saw that thread. I dunno but if I ran this board I wouldn't want somebody like this on here simply looking to take advantage of the members (ALL of his posts are trying to sell something...usually not toyota related)

even my old e36 m3 could smoke that 6

but i did a little to it, and it could smoke a stock e46 but the e46 looks better imo.

its a nice 6 however id rather go euro or true jap on a sports car, mazda isnt true jap.

I don't know man, most sports car enthusiests would whole heartedly disagree with you there....

That little car is considered by most to be one of the most "true sports cars" to ever grace the public roadways. And if anybody wants to meet me on the track in a bimmer or '6 and prove me wrong....I'll be at VIR a lot this summer :p

Mazda work with Ford and some of its models and parts like Mazda Hub Cap are made in US not in Japan. Perhaps neliconcept thinks that way that he says that Mazda is not a true Japs. I must agree with him looking it that way.

Mazdas cool cars aren't made with Ford parts. The 6s and 3s,RX8 and MX5s are Ford free. Toyotas are made in America using american made parts and made by amaricans so really they aren't Jap either anymmore.

Who cares is the car is cool and Mazda makes cool cars.

Oh, really? I know some of their products are shared with Ford ( I wouldn't buy a mazda truck for that reason) but the Mazda3 I had was made in Hiroshima with over 90% japanese parts. It was a great car btw.

310 was made with////// Full exhaust installed, with down pipe, cat elim., CAI, boost controller installed, BOV installed and boosting at 17psi and a customed programmed Haltech FC built for a MSP. 17psi was too much boost and EGT got way out of hand so I immediatly backed it off and decided not to toast a perfectly good new car so with that said....Misrepresenting, not hardly!!!!!!!!!! Anyway do a little more research and the MS6 is built entirly in Japan, not america and no not any Ford crap here. Decided to keep it for a DD and I am doing a liquidation of the 3rd gen rx7 collection, hate I have been off the board for a while but just let this thread slip. Mazda facotry claimed HP is 276 and 100% built in Japan, and misrepresenting wheels, sorry but that was and I took the hit on them if you remember of advertising a 05 when they were clearly off a 03 Seqouia come to find out so thanks. I will give this thread a day of two before I close, just for those following but thanks for the compliments and no thanks for the flaming. I truly believe in my faith in Jesus Christ so hopefully everyone else can appreciate that and oh yeah, this comment requires nothing in return. If you feel that my faith is your business then just stay well away and be quiet. God bless
Michael

BTW if anyone wants to see the build go to the MazdaSpeed board or the Mazda 6 board and read the thread, they are long but good reading and several people chimed in and I took there advise on direction to create a really nice car.
