1999 4Runner SR5 "LURCH" for sale
It's time for my friend and confidant, LURCH, to find a new home. I have a new FJ Cruiser that's itchin' to be made trail-ready (OK, OK ... mall ready), and I don't need two trucks.
LURCH is black with a tan patterned cloth interior, 111,000 miles. I bought him used with something like 48K on the odometer. Supercharger was added soon thereafter.
TRD supercharger
URD performance upgrade kit (fuel pump, fuel injectors, computer, etc.)
TJM bull bar bumper
Receiver hitch and tow package (I've never towed anything with it)
Hella "Black Magic" aux lights
Sonoran steel shackle mounts
Transmission mod by IPT transmissions
Transmission radiator
EGR bug deflector
Goodyear Wrangler AT/S 285/75/R16 tires with some decent tread remaining
Yakima roof rack
Ugly Stik CB antenna with custom storage mount
Dual exhaust
K&N air filter
Airbox mod
Full-time power outlet mod
Dual electric horns
Aluminum billet grille
Clear corner front lights
SAW coilovers (front)
OME shocks/springs (rear)
Heavy duty anti-sway bars front & rear
Husky floor liners front and cargo area
Carbon fiber dash trim
Rechargeable Maglite
Tinted windows
Viper remote start and security system
Cobra 19DXIII 40-channel CB radio
Kenwood KVT-9100VD (AM/FM/CD/DVD/TV/Navigation)
Sirius satellite radio receiver (that's what fits in that hole in the dash)
That's all I could think of. It's pretty well-equipped. Now, the bad news ...
I'm not happy with Sway-A-Way, and I've shared that on my posts. I've NEVER taken LURCH offroad, and yet I have a busted front coil. Repeated attempts to get SAW to sell me a new spring have been fruitless. So, while LURCH drives just fine, the front end squeaks when I go over speed bumps.
The good news -- I have a pair of used SAW coilovers from my son's Tundra that go with the truck so that the new owner can replace the broken spring and have a spare for future needs.
More bad news ...
I've gone through THREE fuel pumps since installing the URD performance upgrade. I think it's connected with the software that drives the URD "brain box", but I haven't figured it out. In fairness to URD, I haven't exactly been burning up the phone lines with them trying to fix it, either. However, after three tows and three new pumps, I'm done. The fuel pump was most recently replaced a couple of months ago. Hopefully, somebody with more knowledge and patience (I have neither) can figure it out and solve the problem.
There's some slight rust on the tow hitch and the sides of the running boards.
I don't know of anything else to complain about. Here are some pictures ...

I have more pix available, or can take some if requested. Just PM me or e-mail your request to N8RV@gte.net.
Naturally, I have most of the original stuff that was removed for the mods -- original bumper, fuel injectors, factory radio, etc. -- which I'll throw in for nothing. Whatever I can still find you can have.
The Kelly Blue Book value for this truck (stock) is about $9K. Several thousand was spent on modifications like the bull bar, suspension, A/V system, supercharger, etc. Because I want LURCH to have a good home, the first $12,500 takes him home.
Feel free to e-mail me with any questions or call me at 574-606-7635. I'm located in northern Indiana, right off the Indiana Toll Road -- about two hours east of Chicago.
