This one is back up for sale. I just went through the engine since it was having some compression issues. The rings lost tension for some reason. So anyway its a fresh rebuild with new rings and bearings and a fresh rebuilt head.

12,000 dollars?

you do know i just heard that they are selling a brand new nissan frontier for 14,000 out the door at the dealership near me???

not that i like nissan or anything, just want you to know that sure its great and cool that it has low mileage, but maybe drop it a couple g's. 10,000 would be better imo..

Someone could also buy a brand new KIA for less than that. If you're gonna bash the dudes sale why not try comparing apples to apples.
Bump for the dude trying to sell his rig!

Thanks for the support guys. People with bad attitudes that want to buy Nissans can go away. He didnt read the last line of the first post I guess.
Its 12000 or best offer. I have a guy interested here in town locally but his wife insists on him selling his current rig first.

Pictures I have send me an email address and I can send you some or I can post them up on photobucket or something for all. I will get something togther in a couple of hours.

no bashing here, im not sure if you guys took it wrong. im just saying 12,000 might scare some people away, and trying to compare apples to apples at least i was referring to a truck.

its my opinion in the end. also, im just trying to help give you real idea on what you may or may not get for it. if you dont want my constructive criticism, why post on here at all?

or are you only posting on here as an ad to sell your truck and nothing else?....

Not taking it as bashing. Its a different market up here in NorCal. There are rigs up here sold with a bunch less in far worse condition for 8-10k so I am in the ball park for the area I live. I dont need to sell this its just not getting used at all so I want to get it to someone who will use it. I have been a reader on here for quite a while just never posted.

That's exactly why he posted it here. Simply to try to sell it.

If he wanted anyone's criticism then he would have posted it in the Tech or General Discussion forum. As someone who builds and sells these rigs on a regular basis, its not unthinkable to get over $10K for a 4runner built like that.
To boot: the For Sale section isn't for criticism, its in the rules.

Just curious, but have you ever built a first gen 4runner like this? Do you know what goes into it and what the real costs are for such a rig? I am sure he has more than that into the rig, and for someone wanting a clean trail rig that can double for a daily driver, its worth it.

12,000 is way to much. And if someone had 12,000$ they would get a newer truck or get a 1000$ one and fix it up for 2000$. I sorry man, but thats a steep asking price. I can go and get a 84 4runner for 200$ in Seattle and I'm still think thats a little much.

well good luck, norcal or not thats a lot of money to come by.

I'm sure your "$200 84" with a whopping 2k into it would be pretty bad ass too. I'm guessing by that statement you've never built an offroad rig.

As ScottyC said, if he wanted opinions on price he would have asked somwhere else beside the for sale section. IMO if you wanted to be constructive a PM would serve quite well. Telling him he's overpriced out here in the open is not constructive it is bashing. PERIOD!

Nuther bump for the dude selling his rig. Hope you get 13k for it!

Wow you guys bashing are funny. Have you priced just the parts in my rig its close to 9000. Not to mention the loaded very clean truck to start with plus the labor and time. Gee go bash some one else and leave my for sale item alone.
Cary
Thanks for the people that know what it takes to make and build a rig like this one.

And what does $2000 buy you in parts? Tires alone run $1000, so please tell me. I can give you a price list of what it takes to build what this guy has. He's right. Its close to $7000 in parts alone. Not including labor or the clean rig itself.
