Trying to decide on tire/wheel sizes

I've got a 98 SR5. I'm going to be putting in 4.30 gears when I do my locker and it's going to get a Sonoran Steel 1.2 lift. I am also going to be doing the Tundra big brakes. I'm trying to decide between a couple of different wheel and tire sizes.

17"x8 2004ish TRD wheels w/ 285/70/17. I've found plenty of the silver ones for sale for not too bad a price. I'm trying to get one of my friends that has an 04 with the gunmetal ones to get some new wheels and sell me those. I also know that they'll clear my brakes but how much rubbing am I am going to have? I don't know what bs on them.

16"x8 LX450 wheel or secondly the FJZ80 wheel w/ 285/75/16s. I don't know if I am going to have to use spacers to clear the brakes and avoid rubbing or not.

I know there are people out there with experiance with either wheel and was wanting some opinions.

All I can tell you for now is that the aluminum factory 16x7" split-three will take a 265/75/16 with no wheel-well interference. Whey you do the Tundra swap (I did the 231s), if you grind about 5mm of material off the back (more than you think, less than you need to worry about), that 16x7" will make a good backup/street tire & wheel for when your knobbies are too noisy. A 10mm spacer would work too if you don't want to grind, but you'll start running out of wheel stud.

When I find more out I'll post it. No point in giving you guesses like "the 16X8 ought to clear the brakes" or "the 17x8 is enough but you'll probably need to cut plastic". I'm going to try a 17X8' Pro-Comp Rock Crawler with 4.5" backspacing, so I'll post about that too.
