Exclamation Tire Size vs. Diameter vs. Wheel Widths

TIRE SIZE vs. OVERALL DIAMETER GUIDE

This guide shows the following:
-Compares tire sizes to actual diameters
-Tells ideal wheel width for tire sizes (This thread doesn't yet, but the PDF does..)
-Gives actual tire width on ideal wheel (This thread doesn't yet, but the PDF does..)

*NOTE: All tires and tire manufacturers are different. This guide does not include every size. Also, it should be very close, but may not be 100% accurate for all tires...

I couldn't post the entire guide (wheels widths, tire widths, etc..) but I did attach the guide as a .PDF file. I can email it to you as a Word document or Excel sheet if you'd like...

If that attachment above doesn't work...you can try either of these.

You do realize that tire diameter varies from one manufacture and model to the next and that the diameter of the tires tends to change based on what rim width you put it on right?

Thanks for the guide though.

It's not intended to tell some one they have 0.4" before they rub, it's supposed to help give an idea of the overall diameters and sizes...assuming the tire was mounted on the correct width wheel with proper air pressure.

hmm interesting, this seems accurate for bfg tires and the majority of others that measure a little small but it isnt for some bigger brand mud tires, some actually measure a little bigger. i put a set of treadwrights on my truck and the are made off bfg at's on a 315-70-17 carcass. a new bfg tire this size measures 34.8 or something like that, my new shoes run 35.6 almost an inch difference. this is not the most accurate way of stating things since they are retreads but you get the idea. i like the chart it sucks when you but a 35 thats barely taller than 33 inches

Thats not what he was getting at.
What he was getting at is that a 315/75/16 BFG Km2 is actually shorter than a 315/75/16 MTR Kevlar and so on and so forth. It varies by tire manufacturer.
Most web sites already show this information you posted. But, thanks, I guess..
