funky wear pattern

hey guys i just noticed this today while pulling into a carwash after going through a small puddle of water..and this is what my tire looked like


i thought the water might have drained off a lil..but no...that's how my tires are wearing...just this one? lol

what causes that?

It is chopped or cupped. This is usually from lack of tire rotations, however suspension or steering problems can attribut to this as well. IE worn idler arm, pittman arm, relay rod, bushing, etc. If it's just the 1 tire you've got something going on. I'm gonna guess it's one of your front tires, and have to also say it will be your idler arm or pittman arm being loose, depending on which side of the truck it's on...

heyyy...my idler arm is loose...nice job bro!!! that'll be on my list of things to fix when i pull my front end apart..if i do before i sell it lol

When you replace the idler arm may as well get the brace while you're at it. The NWOR piece is stout and most likely will save you from bending it or wearing it out prematurely.

I've done this once or twice

Check the pittman closely. Chances are if your idler is done, your pittman isn't far behind.
