Flipping used tires to white in?

I bought a pair or Cooper AT3s a few months ago and the guy installed them backwards... I requested white lettering in. They said they would fix it whenever I wanted. It's been 5 months and 10k miles. Now the guy tells me if I flip them I may have problems due to changing the direction they roll and stress on the tire??

Is that true or is he feeding me garbage to get out of extra work?

Not thrilled with this shop.

I believe this is with old tires.
The way they rotate tires now is driver front to passenger rear, passenger front to driver rear in a crisscross. I have 50k on a set doing this every rotation with no issues, tires are rated for 80k I believe.

that's only the case for directional tires anymore. and even THAT is only due to the directional tread causing huge issues with sucking water in to the tread versus diverting it out of the voids.
with non-directional tires (and new ones at that) it makes no difference.

with only 10k, I wouldn't be worried unless there is a visible difference in tread. I did the same thing, but with tires that were 1/2 gone, and experience no problems.

FLIP THEM

If you flip em on the rims and then swap em from side to side, they'll still be turning the same direction.
