This may be a completely different tire now, but the Firestone Wilderness AT is the tire that was apart of all those Ford Explorer disasters. Granted, there is a debate on whether it was the tire's fault, the rigs fault, or a combination of both, but I would personally not buy a tire that was involved it something like that.

 

We went over that in suspension and steering class, the main causes of the tire failures was that Ford was recommending a lower tire pressure for ride quality, if you look at the correct cold tire inflation it gives the tires a correct running operation. Ford doesnt want to admit to it because they dont want to lose sales. At GM we are supposed to go by the factory recommendations but our dealership goes by the tire readings.
