Custom Rim Paint??

I really dont have the money or the desire to buy new rims. I thought about wrapping the sidewall in newspaper and taping it down while i apply primer then flat black paint but my rims have grooves so i was going to tape those and leave them a silver color. tell me if you would do it or see any problems in it.

Thanks

sand the whole thing down with 400 > grit or a scuff pad. wipe it down with break cleaner. wipe down again with a CLEAN and DUST FREE rag. and paint away!

if you painting in bare metal shoot it with a self etching primer first. then sand and paint.
