Biggest tire with 1" wheel spacer?

Are you planning on wheeling your truck much? I would like to see/hear how it works out on the trail. I'm currently running 305/70r16s (~33x12) on 16x8 LC80 wheels with no spacers and I rub quite a bit on the frame, but my long-term goal is to have 35s one day.
I got SS shaved uppers as well as I rubbed there as well. I've been mulling over what to do with the rubbing and possibly changing my wheel/tire setup. I've currently got some 17x7.5 FJC black steelies that I'm thinking about putting on somehow, but I'm pretty sure I'd need spacers with those. I just don't want to end up with way more rubbage.
Also, how many wraps do you LC springs have?
