True that, the pair I had on my 89 4Runner a good 6 years ago had the rim guard. Those tires went through some horror and did just fine. BFG muds are a tough tire from what I've seen.

The only BFG's I've ever had were tako's. If the M/T's weren't so expensive and wouldn't affect mileage so much, I'd run'em. They are great tires for most applications. Definitely one of the best mud tires. My neighbor runs them exclusively on his CJ-5. I was surprise how quiet (relatively) they are on the highway, too.

My uncle had a branch go through his tire while hunting. They were Toyo's. I think it just happens...but that sucks man. Hope you get it fixed.

Hmmm.....must be a difference in mud.

My 4rnr practically stays in mud (again, the road home) all fall/winter and I've never had that problem.....for atleast 5yrs running.

That's called a Texas Tire Balance.

I hate bfg's. just had poor luck w' them. I mean I've bad luck w/ any bfg, except the radial bfg's i had on my grand national they lasted thru many burnouts and many races( 1/4 mile variety ) but that was many years ago. Off road I've found I don't like them ( they suck ) but I have a few friends who love them. I guess to each there own.

ko's been around for years huh? wow i guess that's some indication of how old the A/T's my truck came with when i bought it. when i replaced them a few months ago with the A/T ko's i was impressed like it was some new thing.
