BFG KO's are an offroad oriented tire. If you're worried about wet weather performance and general on road performance only, they are not the tires for you. But in my experience, Nitto's weren't that great, either. Mich AT and Bridgestone REVO's were much better.

KO's do trump all the other tires mentioned offroad, though.

 

On a daily driver in Colorado you have to consider wet weather performance but I think Nittos offer a good compromise between streetability and off road performance which I never had any issues over 4 years with hitting intermediate trails and mild rock crawling. I thought my Nittos filled the niche between BFGs and a set of Revos or Michelins nicely.

I'm actually giving the new GY Duratracs a try since I wanted something new and they didn't kill my wallet too much.

 

There is a reason. Where else are you going to find a 32X9.5" tire? Tire manufacturers don't make enough skinny tires because there isn't enough demand (as they aren't aesthetically appealing to most).

 

Well, we're pretty much in the same climate zone. I don't know why NTG's sucked so much for me. I guess maybe it was a bad batch. Subpar on road, off road, snow and rain. REVO's seemed just more planted on road and BFG's were alot better off.

I am also interested in the Duratrac's. You'll have to post up a review when you get them.

 

so i also am looking at the mich a/t 2 since ive heard that their great in rain and snow, as well as dry roads, which is where i spend most of my time. But they only come in the p265/70/r16 size their p or passanger. would that be too soft? i do pull a 20' boat every once in a while to the lake thats only 4-5 miles from my house. Also the other choice would be lt265/75/r16 load range E. but id like to stay away form them since E , from the sounds of it, gives too rough of ride.

 

Be careful with those BFG's. I was just looking them up, and it appears that one of the sizes (I believe it was the 265/75R/16 load range E) was NOT rated for severe snow conditions. Check the tire size charts from BFG and verify. Not sure if it's a big deal to you, but just something to think about. Oh, and I think they also make 2 versions of that same size tire. Each has a different speed/load rating.

 

check out the general grabber AT2. Great in the snow (has snowflake badging) Great in the rain, great on the road, perorm great off road. I'm running 265/75/16s LR E. The ride is not bad at all. Plus they are way cheaper than BF Goodrich Ats. Oh yeah they look great too.

Were you able to get a load range D? If so what size.
