ok so im buying rims for my 91 toyota pickup and as im browsing for a standard black rims i notice that there is 15x8 6x5.5 and 15x8 6x4.5 etc...

now i know that the 6x5.5 is 6 lug and 5.5 is the PCD, what i cant figure out is that my truck is 6x127mm and converted 127mm is 5 inches and i dont see any 6x5 rims for sale so i now need to know what will line up with my PCD for my truck so i dont buy 250$ worth of rims that wont bolt up... thanks for any input and help.

 

You want 6x5.5. 6 lug, 5.5" lug center to opposite lug center.

What is PCD?

 

PCD: The pitch circle diameter represents the spacing of the lug holes. The distance between the lug holes is calculated differently depending on the number of holes. In a 4, 6, or 8 bolt wheel, the PCD is calculated based on the distance between the center of two diametrically opposed bolts. In a 5-bolt wheel, the PCD is calculated based on an imaginary circle running through the center of each bolt hole. To determine the PCD, a measurement is taken from the center of one bolt hole to the imaginary circle that lays between the opposite two bolt holes.

why did you not just use a tape measure to measure your wheels.

 

Interesting. I've never heard the term either. I knew how to check, but never heard it called PCD. Thought it was some weird disorder...
