Essential Off Road Snack

Being active duty i kknow what a quick meal can be, usually a dried out piece of mystery meat in a brown plastic pouch(MRE). Most are delicious. Still not 1 that i have had had the most important part of a mans diet. Bacon. So ill be throwing in some MREs n such in the back of my 4runner next time i head out along with my somewhat new found discovery. Some tactical bacon. bored one day and stumbled upon this great discovery. Have yet to try it out but will soon.

I like to keep a few Meals Rejected by Everyone behind the passenger's seat for emergencies. All snydeness aside, the Chicken Fajita pack is pretty good, I'd be hard pressed to find something better at nearly any Scout camp I'd spent my youth at.

Before heading out I'll cut together some AP flour, lard, salt, baking powder, baking soda and buttermilk powder and keep it with my stores. Good for quick buttermilk biscuits, pancakes, waffles, dumplings, or pocket pie in a pinch. Good for car camping and backpacking.

The local REI has taken up selling puches of alder-smoked sockey salmon that're kinda like the pouch tuna. Pretty hard to beat.
I also like to keep around a few tins of sardines. Just one of those things that gets along with porter surprisingly well.

Second beef jerky. Good protein source. My favorite is teriyaki.

Though not a exactly a snack, a favorite of mine is adding some crystallized ginger to a water bottle. Can leave it in for days at a time and just keep refilling the water bottle as you go, kinda like an everlasting lemonade that helps that "I'm camping and haven't had time/desire to dig out my toothbrush" breath but beware you have to like ginger, especially if its a hot day and you leave the bottle in the sun or overnight.
