4.3 wiring, what all is required?

I have been kicking around the idea of a 4.3 and reading this I think I'm gonna go for it in my 88 4Runner. Looking on painless I only see obd2 harnesses p/n 60215 for the extended length. Being a auto tech I really appreciate obd2 for diag and simply seeing what's going on. Any one go obd2?

4l60 to what TC?

Did you use the Toyota gear driven case or did you go with something else?
I want to keep my transfer case Toyota, but am not comfortable taking the entire tranny apart to change the output shaft are there other more simple options?
