2L-TE in place of 3vze

Has anyone done this before ? What can be done to replace the mounts ? I assume this would be like a 22RE swap ... cut old mounts out remove old mounts. Wiring similar to the 22re as well I assume.

I would like to swap out my 22RE for a 2L-TE. Looking at the engine, it looks like the motor mouts are the same. I have no idea about the wiring. Subscribing

This should be real easy for you considering you already have a 22RE and a good deal of the wiring is the same. The engine drops right in, i read you can even use the trans you already have.

Unfortunate that this thread is dead. Anyone still listening?
Looking at an '83 pickup now with 22r. Happened across a 2L diesel for sale in the process and wondered. Found this thread and it sounds too good to be true.
Is this true, motor mounts match and original transmission mates with the 2L?
What other considerations, mods, or swaps necessary?
May not be any easy choice. The '83 has had some impressive work done to it. Gonna take a look tomorrow.
-Weber carb
-centerforce clutch
-header
-flowmaster exhaust sys. (eh..)
-big lift with 35" BFGs
-engine bored

anyone?
