Afco. 2 1" cores. I think those are about the same dimensions. I paid $125 for it from a local race shop. I had the inlet and outlet modified to a 90 degree bend so the rubber hoses aren't and issue.

I plan on moving the bottom to the side and a 90 on the top.

The fan comes really close to the front of the engine. This is why careful planning is necessary if you want a puller fan.

I got a whole upper intake from a JDM Toyota Soarer (Its what the Lexus SC400 is called in Japan). I bought it mainly for the factory EGR bypass stuff the the Japanese engine doesn't use. It also had a Toyota emblem instead of the Lexus one.

Which one do you guy think I should use.

Got a few more minor things done.

Finished the exhaust. I found a new cheap 40 Series Flowmaster on Craigslist instead of using the Borla I had. The Borla was one of a set and I did't really want to use a high dollar muffler on a trail truck.

Going with a K&N open filter for now. I'm not a big K&N fan or even an open element fan because I think they allow too much dust to enter the engine but the factory air box was going to be a headache to fit the way I wanted it to. That will be a later project.

Ran the 2 rear O/2 sensors through the floor.

I made a battery tray for the drivers side. I made it so I can use the factory clamp.

I thought I'd post an update. I had a local guy build my wiring harness and he called me yesterday and told be he got it started. So I went over there today and everything works perfect. The engine sounds awesome. The wiring is still kind of all over the place but its coming along great. All the gauges work and its not throwing any codes. He's supposed to have it completed next weekend. Unfortunately I didn't get any pics or video yet.

Getting prepped for paint. I had Hanemman fiberglass front fenders and they got a bit beat up from tree rash. I also grafted a 2000 4Runner sport edition hood scoop onto my 89 hood. I have a write up on that somewhere on this forum.

Not much. I'm still waiting on driveshafts because funding is a bit short. I'm in the middle to doing all the body work now.

I used a 92-95 cluster with the wire speedometer and just used the matching 92-95 4cyl speed sensor on the transfer case. works fine.

Its been too damn hot to work on my truck lately but I did pick up another donor for my next swap - with a 1988 4Runner.

This one is a 1995 $700.00 - 200k miles but its been the same owner since it had 60k and I feel confident that they took good care of it. It runs great. I'm not really ready to start it yet but the deal was too good to pass up. besides, I know exactly what I need now so I can part it out and get rid of the rest instead of holding on to it.

Good work on the swap! Isn't it so nice to hear a quickly spooling starter and then the engine roar to life? Just that sound alone is worth the work. I was soooo tired of hearing my wimpy old 4cyl crank over and sputter. The 1UZ spins so fast I love it.

Definitely. I'm neck deep in bodywork and an exo cage construction so I still can't actually drive in anywhere but I find myselft starting it up from time to time for no reason other than to hear it run.
