TIS Problem

So I'm performing a 3.4 swap. Finally got my M/T harness and am trying to do the wiring process while i have it off the engine. I bought a 2 day pass to TIS to get the wiring diagrams for my rig. Unfortunately it appears that they dont have anything for the 1989 pickups. Also im having troubles reading the diagrams i am able to access. Is there any section that shows the pinouts and locations for the individual male piece or?

Unless I am searching wrong, it seems that there arent any EWD for the toyota pickups. Anybody else have this problem?

If you read on the site, TIS only has EWDs for 1990 and newer models, but if you look around here the EWDs (or pin-outs) for most of the late 80s pickups/4Runners are listed.

Look at the end of the first post of the 3.4 swap 101 sticky thread, there's a nice little video showing how to read the EWDs. It will take some time to really figure out how to read the diagrams but once you do, its pretty straight forward.

Make sure you open all the PDFs in Acrobat Reader (or your PDF reader of choice) and save a copy of each for later. I did what I could to create the same/similar folder structure on my PC as TIS had them organized and downloaded EVERY SINGLE EWD for my application, even if I thought there was no possible way it could be of use (as it turns out, some of those were useful).

As for a chart that shows the pin-outs for each specific connector, that doesn't exist, or at least Toyota doesn't provide one on TIS; you'll have to make that yourself.

I had to buy FSM and EWD's used from Amazon and eBay for my 88. They suck compared to the newer models but got me by.

You have all grounds connected? Have you chew tested to see if plugs are sparking when turned over?
