Question Swapping ECU/Harness from T100 3.4L MT into a 92 Pickup AUTO?

Doing research now and trying to find a donor vehicle to 3.4 swap into my 1992 Toyota motorhome with 3.0L and auto transmission.

I found a nice donor, 97 T100 with 120K on the clock, problem is the T100 is a manual transmission. I want to keep the Auto tranny in my RV.

I can find plenty of articles on swapping Auto ECU/harness into Manual trucks, but no info on swapping manual ECU/harness into an auto.

Can I use the manual ECU and harness in my auto pickup or will I need to source a T100 auto ECU and harness?

Thanks!

To answer my own question for anyone in the future... called up ORS and talked to Mike

You can use the motor from the T100 manual, but you will need an T100 Auto ECU and an Auto Engine harness. You can mix and match T100 ECU with various other engine harnesses but you must follow these guidelines

James,

You will need a T100 ECU to properly drive your '92 transmission. Here is a list of the different T100 ECU applications that can be used along w/ the engine wire harness applications that are compatible with each ECU application. Keep in mind that these are all 3.4L A/T applications. The ECU should be from a 4x4 or 4x2 extra-cab application, but the engine wire harness can be from a 4x4 or a 4x2 application (any cab type).

1998 T100 4x4 ECU:
1998 T100
1998 4Runner
1998-1999 Tacoma

1997 T100 4x4 ECU:
1996-1997 4Runner
1997 T100
1997 Tacoma

1995-1996 T100 4x4 ECU:
1995-1996 Tacoma
1995-1996 T100

They will all work relatively the same and can all be made to work. The '98 T100 group is best if you will be using a supercharger. Assuming your engine has a cable-driven, 3-wire TPS-type throttle body, the '95-'96 T100 group will require the use of a different throttle body.

I have also attached some images of shifter configurations for your 4x2 along w/ the T100 so you can visualize the difference.
