Just finished a 1999 5vz into 1998 4 runner same eng. Same trans WON'T start I'm stumped Daniel B

 

Lol alright.

Go back and double check your work. What was wrong with the original motor?

 

Old engine was knocking bad good block etc.. if someone needs one, close to Springfield mo.

 

What have you checked already? does it turn over? run then die? any check engine codes? We cant see what youve done or know what its doing if you dont tell us.

 

so couple mistakes I've run into when doing this
1)Make sure the torque converter clicks 3 times into the input shaft or it will not engage.
2)Make sure you did not break the wiring harness to the transmission, the plastic clip usually doesn't hold up.
3) Check the starter plugs you have 2
4) Just check over every plug make sure the used 99 engine had been serviced and is in time.

Didn't give us much information so these are just the 4 common things I've run into when replacing engine/transmissions

 

Mine didn't start. Turns out I forgot to attach the small starter wire.

Does it have gas?
