Supercharged 3.4 into '88 4Runner 3.0 5 Speed

Monch I like your air intake. I'd like the 3.4 factory box, but don't have it so I'll have to do custom for now. What does your setup consist of? Do I just need to get the MAF attached, and I'm good? Vacuum lines?

Thanks, it's a kit that can be acquired from eBay. Do a search for "Toyota 3.4 air intake" and you should get some results. It was like $60. Everything needed comes in the kit but you must have your own MAF sensor.

Got the hardtop on yesterday with the 2nd gen JDM spoiler upgrade and the Xterra roof rack that I retrofit on.
There are a few more picts in my album here if anyone is interested.

Thanks
Thanks, I'm real happy with the way everything came out. The thing is a rocketship now. For the first month I was driving around waiting for something to fail since there was a fair amount of custom work and fabrication, but I have since gone back to my "It always starts and always runs" mentality.
I would really have to say that if feels, runs, and looks like Toyota did it from the factory this way.
Plus, it's nice driving down the road and knowing with absolute positivity that I am not going to see another one. And that most people have no idea what it is.

A bit off topic for swap thread but...
Not that I already didn't know this before, but I decided to put them to the test. I picked up a '99 Suburban for towing around my other toys and wanted to see what all the domestic hubub was about. We are in the middle of what seems to be an unyielding barage of snow storms here in NJ. I have been winter driving the 4R for close to 20 years now, so I know that there is nothing that mother nature can dish out that it won't laugh at. But just to make sure...
I just took both out for a little spin and I have to say... academically that '88 4Runner with BFG MT KM2's vs. '99 Suburban with Yokohama dual-purpose something or others...4Runner hands the home team a crippling blow.
I know it isn't exactly apple-to-apples because of the tire difference, but if any left over cold-war nations want to invade "Red Dawn" style tomorrow, I know what truck I'm using to overthrow their communist advances with...Wolverines!!!!
Oh wait it's the al-Qiyadah now. So if any of them...Oh wait they have Toyota's too...well it will be a hell of a fight.

Sorry, no I haven't yet. Between the snow storms every 5 or 6 days for the last two months and my Grand National and Buell, I haven't had any time. I plan to dyno tune it when I go to pick up my GN in a few weeks if funds are available. I'll be sure to bring the camera.

Nope, wouldn't just bolt on but I couldn't tell you exactly why. There have been a few put a turbo on a 3.0 but the 12 valve engine isn't really ideal for forced induction (FI). Then there is the whole head gasket problem and almost no aftermarket support for FI with the 3.0.

New Video
Well it isn't much, but I managed to take a few short vids from the dashboard of the truck today. Please excuse the annoying clicking on occasion, that was the camera rattling against the dash.

Yeah, I hate it when someone does that to me.
BTW don't get too wild on tape, there was a guy in a vette here that posted up a video of himself doing about 120 mph through OKC and the cops found him by the info in the video and busted him with the video as evidence.
