Required parts for 3.4 swap into 1985 pickup

Hello! This is my first post on the website so sorry if I posted it in the wrong forum any tips will be greatly appreciated. I was wondering what parts are needed for a 3.4 swap into my 1985 Toyota pickup. This weekend I might buy a rebuilt 3.4L that would come with 3.0L mounts. Will I be able to bolt those in or is some fabrication work needed? I currently have a 22R in my Toyota right now. The 3.4 I’m currently looking at will come with a wiring harness and computer, Ecu, bell housing, clutch and fly wheel for a R150F transmission. I was wondering what else I will need to do this swap successfully? Furthermore, I was wondering if I will need to lengthen my drive shafts to fit the R150F transmission? My current transmission is a W56-A 4x4 5 speed. Thank you for reading.

Go up to the stickie section above and check out the 22RE info and also go down through the pages and read any/all of the 22RE /RE swaps. You will definitely be doing some cutting, welding, fab work but it will fit. You most likely need a different oil pan and will have to mod the exhaust cross over or go dual exhaust. If you have lots of money, there are swap kits and parts out there. You will most likely need to mod your drive shafts unless they fall exactly where they were. You will "probably" be cutting your floor for shifters. You can support you engine and trans/case and shift it up, down, side to side, whatever until it's where you like it. BEFORE you weld anything. You will be swapping your battery and air box to opposite sides. You'll need a EFI tank and fuel system. Do you have to pass emissions? I recommend heat shield as needed on your firewall and floor. My 22RE radiator cools it just fine. I had to make custom A/C hoses using the stock hose ends. You need the 3.4 A/C amplifier. I'd get the evap canister and air box from the 3.4 donor.

I have done two 22RE to 3.4 swaps. One I lowered the engine to avoid a body lift and cutting the hood. The other , I cut the hood. I'm still working on my latest swap project but it has tons of mods. PM me if you want pics or info and I will help if I can. Its an 86 Xtra Cab.
