O2 sensor, red/white wire trouble.

So I got the engine to start but the o2 sensor was not getting power and it ran very rich. I found out it was because the white/red wire on the engine side of the camlock plug was not connected. If I connect it to a +12v source the 02 gets power but the engine will only run for a sec then die. I have the white with red coming from the chassis side going to the ecm. Any ideas?

94 truck, 00 tacoma engine.
Thanks

OK so I hooked the white with red wire up... Sorry for my dyslexia(saying red/white when I meant white/red). So anyway I hooked the white/red that goes to the engine harness to the white/red that comes from the ignition(switched 12v+) and it will just start and then die in about two seconds. If I unhook the mass air sensor plug the engine will run but obviously not well, and when I plug it in the engine will die instantly. I tried a different mass air sensor from a running 3.4 taco and it did the same thing so the mass air is still good. Do you guys have any ideas what this could be? I am really lost.
