so the regulator goes directly to the intake pipe with no vsv?

If your 3.4 came out of a Tacoma it may or may not have a VSV for the fuel pressure regulator and EGR depending on where it was first registered. If it came out of a T100 it does have a VSV for the EGR and probably fuel pressure too.

4Runners did not have the EGR system or VSV for fuel pressure. My donor was a 4Runner and that made my swap painless as far as emission devices are concerned.

What did your engine come out of?

it came from a 96 Tacoma, im pretty sure there it was plugged into a vsv originally, if i was im wondering if i can by pass it and hook the regulator to straight vacuum

Just going by location, it does appear one connector is for the fuel pressure VSV and the other for the EGR VSV. The FSM shows both connectors coming from a common part of the harness.

ahh thank you, that clears things up, i dont have any egr and couldnt find anything it pluged into, so that makes sense.
