Dtc p0141

OK so I thought I did the modulator right for the rear O2 sensor, but maybe not. My CEL is coming on for code P0141. Meaning heated oxygen sensor circuit (bank 1 sensor 2). When I did the modulator the radioshack near me didn't have 12 ohm resistors, only 10 and 15. So I settled for a 15 thinking that it would be ok. Will the modulator only work with a 12? Please shine some light on this for me

I get the same code as well. I have a 12 ohm 25 watt resistor that I got offline. I figure the huge resistor shouldn't get to hot since there is so much amperage going through it. I am thinking I have the connections wrong going to the ecu. but its low on my list of things to do as it doesn't effect performance.

Bu the connections to the ecu should already be in the right place shouldn't they?

hehe I was talking about the connection that I made from the end of the harness for the o2 and my o2 simulator box.

Oh ok. Sorry Im a little slow sometimes. So you think if I put a 12 in there the CEL will go off? Im not too concerned because like you said it doesn't affect how it runs. Its just annoying to have that dumb light on.

I would try it. If you have a 15 ohm resister in there, the resistance will be off, and so the computer will think the cat is not good. Here is the site where I got mine. They are freaking cheap so I bought 2.

hehe there is a thread that I highjacked kinda for the ac wiring. Yes I have hooked it up, but its not working because the system is actually empty even though the PO said it was working. So hopefully today I can get ahold of a conversion kit and get it filled up with r134a. I will be posting my results there hopefully saying that its working hehe.

So I finally got around to the p0141 code I am getting. I tore the box that I so neatly sealed up to find a mess inside. Apparently that resister still got hot. The box inside was all melted, and warped, and the circuit board I used didnt like the heat either. But everything was still working correctly. The resister still showed 12 ohms, and the other portion of the circuit worked as well. So I checked the wiring as I suspected I had it wrong as I had the front o2 wrong as well when I first had it running. I had it wrong. Basically I now know that the HT goes with +B the ground is in the computer which is the HT pin. Then the OX and E1 goes together for the signal. I put the box back together with the signal portion(MOhm resister, and cap) and kept that wired up as that is correct now. And I soldered the HT and +B wires to the 12 ohm huge resister. Started engine up, and checked the computer. Front o2 gives a voltage, but the 2nd o2 still is at 0 volts. Did you ever figure your p0141 code out??

Oh and did you find the AC wiring thread I talked about?
