A/C comp. mounting issues
#1
So, I am at a point in my swap that I am starting to put things back together. While I was installing the a/c compressor I noticed that the pulley (which I swapped from the donor so I could use my 3.0 compressor) does not line up with the adjacent pulley
. I took it the a/c comp. back out and measured the length of both compressors and noticed that the 3.0 compressor is about a 1/2 in shorter than the 3.4 4-runner compressor. Did Toyota use a larger compressor for the 4-runner? The 3.4 compressor is still good, should I use it instead? I am reluctant to use it due to my current system being charged and in good working order prior to the swap.
Thoughts?

Do you have to change anything else on your original system to use the 3.4L compressor? I have the 3.4L compressor and could either swap the top plat or the pulley, I'd rather go with the newer compressor, but am not sure if i have to do anything else to be able to use the newer cooling refrigerant. My truck is an 89 so i don't know if i am using r134 or r-12??
