Question 95 4Runner regearing opinions

1995 4Runner 2WD automatic
2" suspension with 1" body
295/70/17 (33.3") Nitto Trail Grapplers

Thinking somewhere between 4.56 and 5.29 as I only have to redo one diff.

If you have a similar setup what gears did you use?

I know this is for a DD Wabbit, and I have to cast my vote for 4.10s. I regeared mine from 4.88 to 4.10 and have 255/85/16 33.4" tall and get 23.4mpg freeway with this setup. I think RobD said he was seeing as high as 25mpg with his 4.10s and 285s. I have plenty of grunt for takeoff and great top end passing power. You weight even less. I run about 2100 rpm at 65mph. You may be wanting a little more take off grunt for the streets? You have 3.90s now?

I got 3.4 with 5spd running 35's and 5.29. (65mph, 5th gear, 3K rpm) It's too low. I'm gonna swap down to 4.88. I have 4.56 ring and pinion for the rear that I'm not going to use. Do you want it? I paid 100 for it. You can have it for the same price....+shipping.

In theory, you shouldn't have to regear it if you're going just 33's.
