The pins are accurate for the wire colors. The W/R wire that is suppose to go to pin(a) is the same wire that is suppose to be on pin 1 of the MAF. They all match up. I had an issue with my MAF as well. but the pinouts were different my wire that on a 97 was suppose to go to pin1 on the MAF actually was like pin2 of the MAF that I had. But then again, I don't think he was 100% sure on what year the MAF was from. I gave him my part number for reference so he could check it.

Ya i had my MAF unplugged once too and it did the same thing that you guys are mentioning. That's why I suggested to peek at the MAF again.

You guys have ohmed the wires with a meter to make sure that they are all good from one end to the other right?

Hopefully that is it. A pain but not a bad fix altogether.

hey, I just posted this in the main forum, but you know anybody who has the 96 EWD for the 4runner? I just need the 5vzeng.pdf or whatever they called it that year. This is to confirm that the pinouts aren't different... Looking at mosk's wiring stuff, it looks like the wire I spoke about above which is BR-Y in the 95.5 ewd, but his is BR-B. well the 96 is BR-B for that pin according to mosk's translation. So perhaps this is the same issue as what I had, and the plug for the MAF, which I think is already correct, may not be? Ugh... I know its right though. I just don't get it.

Scratch that you have the 96 taco harness. SO that explains what year that is for. pinouts look to be the same though. I say you need to test the MAF to see if you got a bad one or not. If you are able to look at the MAF call me. If not let me know when you can..

Is the part number label still on that harness?

If so post it and I can enter it into the Toyota EPC that I have on my PC

ahaha a cutout. its a y that is put into the exhaust before the muffler and cat. it allows you to be loud when you want, and be quite when you want. i have a buddy who had one on his ws6 trans-am. the car was semi quiet, kinda, until he opened the cutout and bypassed all of the actual exhaust.

i was just thinking about it because the 3.4 actually sounded good without an exhaust. i probably wouldnt open it often, it would just be something funny for all those glasspack chevy's rolling around town.

See dntsdad, all the wire colors were correct. But I may have not seen that on this year, the W-R wire from the efi relay needed to go to the +B on the ECU AND out to like 4 other things including the MAF.

And Doesn't like magnaflow have something like that? Its a muffler, that has a butterfly built into the outlet pipe. You punch it, and the butterfly opens, and its like a strait pipe. You are barely doing anything, and its closed keeping it quiet.

I can't find a link online. Its in like all of the 4-wheel adventures magazines as an ad...

with a quick call to hamish this afternoon to make sure the odb2 was correct, i finally scanned her. it had # cylinder misfire codes, which i think could have been due to the plug wires being wrong the first few times i tried to start it, and also not having os sensors or an exhaust yet.

i blead the radiator as best i could, so far only took 2gallons of 50/50 which seems kind of low, and back the truck up about 20 feet! hahaha she backed up real nice

the reason for not having a bunch of pictures and not driving it around is because i also changed the front diff on my buddy's truck, he broke the crap out of everything so we threw mine in it. i plan on throwing the hood on tomorrow, probably wiring the fan up to accessory for now, until i get a good reliable thermostat and then bringing it to the muffler shop!

oh and i am ordering some 5" 63" chevy springs tomorrow so i can eliminate the 6" make shift blocks i have right now!
