Yes. And please SEARCH and READ. The swap has been covered almost 100 times.

From what I've read, the 3.4 A340 is stronger, internal upgrades and such.
Also less likely for you to get a check engine light on than using the 3.0's A340.

Your best bet, $ wise is get a 3.4 from an A340 equipped T100, as they still have the transfer case drop on the pass. side. If you're not 4wd, then it makes things easier for you.

Check this site out, this guy was pretty much the authority on this swap:

Yota tech has a 41k size limit on pictures so you have to use an outside host or your own server. I recommend flikr.com but there are a million of them out there.

As far as the swap goes. First thing is to read the crap out of this forum. Every thread reveals new secrets and tricks. The 340H in your 4Runner will work with a 3.4 if you get the right ECU (i.e. T100 4x4) and is usable with others but with throw codes and might do funny things in 4low. Read this thread for more details. You can do the swap on a budget. I think Yotaman did one for under 2k but if you want to do it right and you want to do an auto it'll be more. Figure 3-5k on average and depending on the mileage. I know that there are people who will read that and say no way it costs that much. It's just my opinion. The kit mt goat sent a link to is from a company that closed their doors at the beginning of this year. I am pretty sure you can't get them any more. I think he posted it for reference.

Keep reading the forum. You'll find the answers you seek.
