3.4 swap started and ran the first time!!

Finally got done with my 3.4 swap on my 1991 pickup. I did all the no start electrical checks last weekend. Today I finished my exhaust system, put the key in and it started and ran after a few turns of the motor. It sounds real good!! I even took it for a ride around the block a couple of times.
The only probems so far is that it idles at about 1300 rpm. I messed with the throttle cable, but that didnt change anything. Also shows no codes yet.
Any one else have this problem, and how did you fix it.

did you let the truck warm up? and the braket holding the throttle cable is almost always the high idle problem. does not allow the cable enough slack to close the throttle

IAC valve. Mine idled high at first and I traced it to the valve. Replaced it and no idle problem since.

Thanks for the info about the high idle.
I did the 3.4 swap, the auto to 5 speed swap, and the add. to non add. axle tube swap all at the same time. Took a while, but worth it.

I'm about to do mine very soon.

What was the donor? Just curious.

I could not find a whole donor. I used a harness and ECM from a 96 T-100, and the engine from a 97 4runner. Swapped the harness and had to swap the Throttle body from a 3 wire to a 4 wire. Was not to hard of a swap to do. The hardest part was removing the old auto transmission. Did my own wiring, made new wire harness for the backup and 4wd light, turned out pretty good.

Got it fixed. It was the IAC valve. Old one was stuck in the open position. Installed new one and now the motor purrs like a kitten!

Its been almost a year since I done my 3.4 swap. It was worth it, Lots more power, 21 MPG, and over Donner pass in 5th gear.
The only problem I had recently was a small leak from the rear of the oil pan. I had to removed the tranny and front axle to reseal it (I also replaced the rear main seal just to be sure). Turned out to be a small dent in the lip of the oil pan, rigth where it meets the engine block. I hammer it back flat and resealed it with Toyota FIPG and No More Leak.
