just picked up a wrecked 2001 tacoma 3.4 2wd auto looking to put the motor in my 92 4runner with a 5speed.

question I have ran into is will a 2001 5speed 2wd ecu work?

I have read conflicting information some say that 2000 and up they match and some say no way...

I know I can get an auto ecu to work by tricking it to think its in neuteral but I want this swap to be trouble free and get the most out of the engine.
