3.4 swap maf issues

So i have 99.9% completed my swap and heres where im at. I have a 96 tacoma engine 5spd and its in a 94 4runner i used the ORS swap kit for wiring. So at this point whats going on is i have an issue running the truck it will start idle for maybe 10 seconds and then sputters out.

My question is i swapped to the 4 wire throttle body/ TPS and that seems work and need to know what part number people are using on their swaps for the MAF and if anyone else has had this problem and what they did.

Also in addition to that if anyone can tell me how to hotwire the fuel pump so i can rule that out as well.

I plus when its starts if i hold the key on and rev the truck it revs clean and smooth to the rev limiter. BUT if i dont hold the key and try to rev it it dies immedietly im sure this is simple and im just over looking it.

Any help would be appreciated thanks all

make sure you have power going to the MAF. when you were wiring it up, the +B wire needs to be spliced to 3 wires. It is the W-R wire. one should be coming from stock body harness, and from there it will go to the ecu, and there will be another w-r wire going out to the engine. That is what powers like the maf, and injectors and stuff. What you are describing sounds like the MAF not getting power.

Well heres the issue with that i have not done any custom wiring at all but i have it running now and its does well the issue was no fuel/ so i bypassed the COR temporarily and this is my new issue. when i rev the truck with the clutch in it sounds awesome and seems like the reason everyone swaps to this motor its just strong. but when i am driving it under a load it will rev to right around 2500-3000 rpms (no tach mod yet, guessing) but close to there it falls off no sputtering no shaking kicking nothing just sounds like it has no idea what to do. and it sucks so bad too because it pulls so hard to that point

i would test to see if you have a bad MAF. You turn your truck to the ON position and take a voltmeter. put the positive probe in the VG terminal and the negative in the E3 terminal and blow through the MAF. if the voltage fluctuates then its good if it doesnt you got a bad MAF

Sounds like what mine did at first. Check the power at the sensors B+ wire, I think they are white with a blue stripe. Also checking the STA wire at the ECM make sure it only gets 12v when the key is in the START position.

My 2000 4 runner would not rev over 3000rpm & it was the crank sensor putting it in limp mode

Hey 94Runner, your are going to love the 3.4, congrates on the swap.
You say you are going to full widths and 40's, what are you going to do with the 5.29's and 35's that you are running now? If you are going to sell them, let me know, I am only a couple of hours from you.

the sc is not a good idea on an ecu that older than a 97. Those early ecu's did not respond well to controlling the timing and fueling needs of a sc. Just so you know.
