3.4 Power steering Banjo replacement?

3.4 Power steering Banjo replacement?
The 3.4 banjo fitting on the power steering pump, has anyone replaced it with a standard steel 16mm banjo to AN fitting, Does this work?
I hope so, as i tried to get a new section added to my old line and found out it is 10mm not 3/8th and no one has metric fitting locally not even a hydo shop.
